“Women Empowerment”

International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8 worldwide, commemorating the political, social and economic achievements of women.

Over the decades, the objective of Women’s Day celebration has evolved and embraced culture and ethnicity to emerge as a celebration of appreciation, respect and love towards women.

Women’s Day is also celebrated in schools nowadays and also forms an integral part of the curriculum to spread the awareness of women empowerment, their roles and achievements.

Badminton Asia is proud to introduce our very own women in Badminton, who has given their utmost dedication, experience, talents not only to their respective countries but also in the World of Badminton.

Badminton Asia proudly presents our very first Syria Badminton Federation President – Ms. Kholoud Bitar

Among all the sports, Ms. Kholoud Bitar is the first women in Syria to be the President in the Federation.

Since young Ms. Kholoud Bitar started her interest in Badminton. She has represented a small club in her town from 1986 till 1998.

Ms. Kholoud Bitar became a member of the Federation in year 2000 and subsequently selected to become the first women President in 2005 till to-date.

With her beautiful poise, talents that she carries and her true dedication in Sports, she has inspired many young girls to achieve their dreams regardless.  

Despite all the bad political situations Syria is facing, the Syrian Badminton Federations organized many events under Ms. Kholoud Bitar leadership:

Among the events held are: 

Organized Syria Badminton Championship above 19 (Males and Females)
Organized Syria Badminton Championship Under 19, Under 17, Under 15 (Males and Females)
Organized Badminton training courses in many Syrian provinces 
Organized Syrian Clubs Badminton Championship

Ms. Kholoud Bitar’s contribution in Badminton has brought great achievements.

Below are the positions held under her flagship:

2005- 2017: Syria Badminton Federation President.
2003-2005: Syria Badminton Federation General Secretary
1987- 2003: Syria Badminton Federation Member
1977-1990: Badminton Player

With all the achievement and contribution from Ms. Kholoud Bitar in the World of Sports, it has greatly inspired and aspired many women to venture into Sports not only in Badminton but Sports in general. 

In conjunction with Women’s Day, Badminton Asia takes great privilege to congratulate Ms. Kholoud Bitar on her great achievements, contribution towards Badminton Sports in Syria.
