Best of Asia: Chen Yu Fei

The name of Chen Yu Fei would be familiar to anyone who is a badminton fanatic. Chen is a Chinese badminton player. She was born on 1 March 1998 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China. Her achievements in badminton cannot be doubted. Chen attended Hangzhou Chenjinglun Sports School in her home city, Hangzhou. Chen Yu Fei started to play at an international tournament level in 2013, when she was only 15 years old. She won her first silver medal at the Asian Junior Championships in 2014. A year later in 2015, Chen Yu Fei became the runner up at the 2015 Indonesian Masters. 

Chen Yu Fei has won several prestigious titles at BWF, namely; the 2019 All England, HSBC World Tour Finals 2019, and the Tokyo 2020 Olympics gold medal. In fact, in 2019 she proudly earned multiple titles and honors after becoming the dominant player of the year in the category. The year 2019 was the highlight career for Chen Yu Fei. During the final of 2019 All England Open, she defeated the famous Chinese Taipei badminton player, Tai Tzu-Ying. In 2021, Chen Yu Fei won athletes’ ultimate dream: a gold medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Again, she managed to beat the world number 1 badminton queen at that time, Tai Tzu Ying.

Chen  is currently ranked number four in the best women's badminton in the world, collecting over 103,606 points. Over the years, she keeps pushing her limits to the fullest and winning different titles. Her career continues to grow, and we are looking forward to seeing her at the upcoming tournaments!
