Glorious win for Indonesia in Badminton Asia men's doubles
Indonesia made up for the disappointment of losing the mixed team final by winning the men's doubles final - their second gold medal in the individual events - when Leo Rolly Carnando-Daniel Marthin defeated favorites and top seeds Di Zi Jian-Wang Chang of China 21-9,15-21,21-19.
It was another painful defeat for China in this year's Badminton Asia Junior Championships which they hosted for the first time.
For Indonesia, who were the top seeds in the mixed team event, it was a glorious end to the championships in the individual events. For Carnando it was grand double after he and Indah Cahya Sari Jamil had won the mixed doubles.
Zi Jian-Wang Chang, the reigning world junior champions, were expected to win the men's doubles but nothing went right for the Chinese in the first game which they lost tamely at 9-15.
Although they came back strong in the second game and forced a rubber with a 21-15 win the Indonesians were mentally strong and aggressive in the decider for a 21-19 win to land the title.
Earlier, China won the women's doubles title. It was an All-China affair with second seeds Li Yi Jing-Luo Xu Min snatching a 21-17, 21-17 win over compatriots Chen Ying Xue-Zhang Chi in 37 minutes.
