Local hero and Kazakhstan's top men's shuttler Dmitriy Panarin was denied a treble but still gave the home fans plenty to cheer with a double in the Condensate Apacs Kazakhstan International Series which ended in Uralsk, Kazakhstan on Sunday.

The second-seeded Youth Olympic player defeated third seed and his doubles partner Artur Niyazov in a hard fought 65-minute battle before coming out tops with a 13-21, 21-14, 21-9 win.

Panarin and Niyazov later teamed up for the doubles final, with the top seeds needing only 25 minutes to take the title in straight games 21-15, 21-11 against the scratch combination of Khaitmurat Kulmatov (Kazakhstan) and Ryhor Varabyov (Russia).

Russia's Anastasia Redkina was also a double winner – clinching the women's singles and the women's doubles.

In the singles final the unseeded Redkina beat compatriot Anastasiia Pustinskaia in an all-Russian encounter to prevail 23-21, 11-21, 21-8 in 67 minutes.

Anastasia was back on court later with Ekaterina Kadochnikova as the top seeds in the women's doubles final.

The pair had no difficulty in taking the title in straight games, defeating compatriots Dania Dzhedzhula Viktoriia Vorobeva 24-22, 21-19.

Panarin's hopes of a treble were dashed when he and his Russian partner Anastasiia Pustinskaia were beaten in the mixed doubles final.

They were no match for top seeds Rodion Kargaev-Viktoriia Vorobeva 13-21, 18-21 in 30 minutes.
