Communications and Marketing Executive


Badminton Asia is the governing body of badminton in the continent in Asia. It is one of the five continental bodies under the flagship of Badminton World Federation (BWF). Badminton Asia is one of the oldest confederation, being founded in 1959. Currently, Badminton Asia is headquartered in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, and having 41 Member Associations. These Member Associations can be divided into five regions, namely West Asia, Central Asia, South Asia, East Asia and South East Asia.



With the recent rebranding exercise, Badminton Asia is charting a new era and a more dynamic Confederation which recognises all members as of equal importance and every member has a role to play for Asia. Badminton Asia also adopted a new theme “Smash the World” which serves as a constant reminder that Badminton Asia shall strive to push badminton as the most popular sport in Asia and at the same time, to be the best in the sport. Hence, the vision for Badminton Asia is “to promote, develop and strengthen the sport of badminton in Asia”.


We are looking for a practised Communications and Marketing Executive with exceptional communication and people skills to join this vibrant and passionate team. Both part and full time job seekers are encouraged to apply. 


Write a range of media material, ensuring it remains consistent, upbeat and delivered in a timely fashion
Unify all messages and communications around the Badminton Asia’s strategic plan to achieve positive awareness and brand alignment
Evaluate and review opportunities to improve Badminton Asia communication activities to ensure target audiences are being effectively reached
Coordinate the management and updating of information on the new Badminton Asia website and support the development and to create social media platforms for Badminton Asia and to ensure the effective usage of the social media platform
Respond to media inquiries
Coordinate the management on all marketing activities of Badminton Asia
Responsible in planning all marketing activities of Badminton Asia


You will need:

A qualification in journalism, PR, marketing or a related field
Experience in a similar role producing media releases and conducting regular liaison with media organisations
Ability to work under tight time pressures and produce quality content
Familiarity with social media and web content
Strong computer literacy
An interest in environmental issues
