Badminton Asia’s South Asia Training Camp in Assam , India a huge success

Another first and another feather in Badminton Asia's cap as the Asian badminton body held a Regional South Asia Training Camp in beautiful, Assam in India.

The five day camp was held from Nov 29 to Dec 3 in conjunction with the inaugural South Asian Regional Tournament – another milestone achievement – which was held at the Deshbhakta Tarun Ram Phookan Indoor Stadium in Guwahati, Assam from Dec 4-8.

The training camp was attended by participants from India (six players and one coach); Bangladesh (five players, one coach); Maldives (six players, one coach and two managers); Nepal (six players, one coach); and Bhutan (seven players, one coach.

Badminton Asia's coach and Development Officer Muhammad Andy Ardiansyah, who was assisted by Badminton Asia's Regional Development Officer Nikhil Chandra Dhar, conducted the training camp.

The training camp was divided into two sessions per day – morning (9am to 12pm) and afternoon (3.30pm to 6.30pm).

The focus was more on the Technical and Tactical aspects to prepare them in a tournament.

The participants were also put through on physical training, agility and speed – all vital ingredients in badminton.
