Breeze for Thailand’s top seed Kunlavut in Badminton Asia Junior Championships

Thailand's Kunlavut Vitidsarn needed only 18 minutes in his 21-9, 21-8 win over Vietnam's Nguyen Anh Gia Huy in a second-round match in the Pembangunan Jaya Raya Badminton Asia Junior Championships in Bintaro, Jakarta on Wednesday.

The Thai, who is the reigning Under-17 Asian champion is the hot favourite for the Under-19 title and will meet Sri Lanka's Sri Chamath Dias or Singapore's Darrion Michael Ng Weng Soong in the third round.
Also through to the third round is China's third seed and last year's runners-up Bai Yupeng. Yupeng brushed aside Sri Lanka's Lochana De Silva 21-8, 21-13 in 21 minutes.

Others enjoying a winning start in the men's singles were fifth seed Chen Shiau Cheng of Chinese Taipei who easily beat Iran's Alireza Karami 21-7, 21-14 and Indonesia's Karono Karono with a 21-16, 16-21, 21-17 victory over India's Aman Farogh in other second-round matches.

Japan's Hiroki Nakayama, Indonesia's Christian Adinata, Abdul Hamid Lukman of Bangladesh also cleared their second-round matches together with Ko Shing Hei of Hong Kong China and India's Kiran George and Korea's Choi Ji-hoon.
