While Indonesia is assured of the men's doubles crown the home fans will be rooting for the host nation to win the mixed doubles title as the prefect farewell present for Liliyana Natsir in the USD350,000 Daihatsu Indonesia Masters on the final day on Sunday.
The 33-year-old Liliyana and Tontowi Ahmad hope to turn the tables on world number one and top seeds Zheng Siwei-Huang Yaqiong in the final at the Istora Senayan Stadium in Jakarta.
Tontowi-Liliyana were beaten semi-finalists last year. This year the reigning Rio Olympic champions went one better and defeated Malaysia's Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying 22-20, 21-11 in the semifinals on Saturday – the same pair they beat for the Olympics gold in 2016.
Zheng Siwei-Huang Yaqiong came from a game down to defeat Japan's reigning All-England champions Yuta Watanabe-Arisa Higashino 11-21, 21-14, 21-11 in their semi-final encounter.
The Chinese pair is also the defending mixed doubles champions.
Defending champions Marcus Fernaldi Gideon-Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo stayed on track to retain their men's doubles title and will face compatriots and former world champions Mohammad Ahsan-Hendra Setiawan in the final.
Ahsan-Hendra gave a polished display of the shuttle sport when the No 8 seeds packed off China's No 7 seeds Han Chengkai-Zhou Haodong 21-11, 21-17 and could just spoil the party for the champions.
The women's singles final will be see India's Saina Nehwal who recovered splendidly from a game down to beat China's He Bingjiao 18-21, 21-12, 21-18 to face Spain's Carolina Marin.
The men's semi-final saw Japan's current World No 1 Kento Momota rip Denmark's Viktor Axelsen apart with a heavy 21-15, 21-14 defeat in only 30 minutes. Momota's opponent in the final is another Dane Anders Antonsen.
