Tasya Farahnailah is an Indonesian player currently ranked #33 in BWF’s junior world ranking for women’s singles. At just 16 years old, she’s already competed in many international tournaments and had 37 career wins, making her one of Asia’s best junior players!
Farahnailah had already started playing in international tournaments since 2015 when she competed in Singapore. The next year she came back to the OUE SINGAPORE YOUTH INTERNATIONAL SERIES 2016 and did incredibly well, even reaching the semi-finals of the tournament, which she repeated again in 2017. She also competed locally at the PEMBANGUNAN JAYA RAYA INTERNATIONAL JUNIOR GRAND PRIX 2017 (U19).
In 2018 she played again at the PEMBANGUNAN JAYA RAYA JUNIOR GRAND PRIX 2018, this time reaching the semi-finals before being defeated by Thai player Pitchamon OPATNIPUT 18-21, 12-21. However, at the VICTOR EXIST JAKARTA OPEN JUNIOR INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS 2018, Farahnailah saw success. She reached the finals and was up against Thai player Pitchamon OPATNIPUT. She did not win, however after the intense 3 games, she won a silver medal. A great start for her career!
However, it was in 2019 when the amount of tournaments she was in really started to increase. At the PEMBANGUNAN JAYA RAYA JUNIOR GRAND PRIX 2019, Farahnailah finally claimed her women’s singles title after she defeated Hong Kong player CHENG Sin Yan Happy Serena 21-13, 21-17. She also competed internationally at the VICTOR MALAYSIA INTERNATIONAL SERIES 2019 and MYANMAR INTERNATIONAL SERIES 2019. She also reached the finals of the DAIHATSU ASTEC REGIONAL JUNIOR U13,U15,U17 2019 (SURABAYA) where her competitor was counterpart Mutiara Ayu PUSPITASARI.
In 2020 she competed at the YONEX DUTCH JUNIOR INTERNATIONAL 2020 for the first time and also the YONEX GERMAN JUNIOR 2020. Although she’s still so young, she has so much potential. We are rooting for you!
