KUALA LUMPUR: The Badminton Asia Confederation (BAC) today 9 January 2025, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Yatsushiro City Japan, to host the Badminton Asia Junior Championships for two years.
Yatsushiro City, located in the Kumamoto Prefecture, will host the prestigious Asian junior competition in 2026 and 2027.
This will be the first time Yatsushiro City will host the event since its inception in 1997, and only the second time it is being held in Japan. Kyoto previously hosted this event over 25 years ago in 2000.
“Badminton Asia would like to express our thanks to Mr. Hiroo Nakamura (Mayor for Yatsushiro City) for their interest in hosting this important development event. We look forward to this tournament taking place in Japan,” said Dato’ Kenny Goh Chee Keong.
