The Badminton Asia Asia Olympic Programme (AOP) Training Camp 2025 successfully concluded today in Kuala Lumpur, marking the final AOP camp of the year and reaffirming Badminton Asia’s commitment to developing high-potential athletes across the continent.

Held from 3 to 23 December, the three-week camp brought together 21 athletes from 14 Asian countries, including developing badminton nations and para-badminton participants, as part of Badminton Asia’s structured pathway towards elite international performance.
The AOP Training Camp 2025 underscores Badminton Asia’s continued investment in athlete development, education and integrity, laying a strong foundation for Asia’s future champions.
The Asia Olympic Programme (AOP) is a long-term development initiative designed to enhance the technical, physical and tactical standards of Asian athletes while providing holistic support through education, integrity awareness and career pathway guidance.

Throughout the camp, athletes underwent comprehensive programme including on-court technical training, strength and conditioning sessions, structured match play and sports psychology workshops.
Participants also benefited from a visit to the Badminton World Federation (BWF) Headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, where they were introduced to key areas including athlete pathways and dual-career options, coaching education, technical officiating structures, anti-doping programmes and integrity in badminton.

The camp was further enhanced by a visit from John Shearer of BWF, who shared guidance and motivation with the athletes and an in-depth Laws of Badminton education session conducted by BWF-accredited umpire Mr. Teo Kian Joo.
The session covered the latest updates to the Laws of Badminton and upcoming rule changes to be implemented from 1 January 2026. Special focus was given to para-badminton regulations, ensuring clarity and confidence in international competition settings.
