BALI, INDONESIA – March 28, 2026 – Badminton Asia successfully convened its 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Bali, marking a landmark moment for the sport’s governance in the region. The assembly was characterized by a spirit of unity and full support for the organization’s strategic direction, with representatives from 32 Member Associations in attendance.

Despite the challenges of the current global situation, Badminton Asia extends its deepest gratitude to the delegates who traveled to Bali to ensure this pivotal event took place. Their presence underscores a shared dedication to the continued excellence of Asian badminton.
In conjunction with this year’s AGM, Badminton Asia was also proud to host its inaugural Awards & Gala Dinner. This landmark event served to celebrate the outstanding achievements of athletes, officials, and stakeholders who have elevated the sport over the past year.
Key Highlights and Strategic Reports
The AGM provided a platform to review the 2025 roadmap and finalize essential administrative matters:
• Governance and Finance: The assembly formally adopted the Annual Reports for 2025 and the Audited Accounts for the financial year ending December 31, 2025.
• Committee Updates: Comprehensive reports were received from the Secretariat, Treasurer, and Development Committees.
• Operational Progress: Updates were also shared by the Events, Technical Officials, and Marketing Committees.
• Inclusivity and Rules: The assembly reviewed progress from the Para and Special Olympics Committee and the Humanitarian and Gender Equity Committee.
Major Voting Results
The meeting demonstrated a high level of consensus on legislative updates. A crucial vote regarding the organization’s Rules and Laws passed with a significant majority of 31 votes in favor, providing a clear mandate for future administrative refinements.

Following the appointment of Auditors , the assembly concluded by discussing the preliminary plans for the 2027 Annual General Meeting. The success of the meetings in Bali reinforces Badminton Asia’s position as a unified and progressive governing body.
