India is a fast-growing powerhouse of Badminton, which has produced legends such as Prakash Padukone and Pullella Gopichand. This trend is continuing till today with Saina Nehwal, Parupalli Kashyap and P.V. Sindhu (to name a few), who recently had shaken the world of badminton.
Despite the recent growth and success, Badminton Association of India (BAI) did not rest their laurels and with the thirst to growth the sport in India, they have embarked on continuous coaching education and knowledge seeking by having their first BWF Level 1 Course in Lucknow.
This course is run and managed by Badminton Asia, where the regional development officer, Ian Gil Piencenaves was assigned to conduct the week-long programme with 16 aspiring Indian coaches.
Badminton Asia's goal is not only to conduct development courses for our member associations but to also train more expertise to run the growing number of programmes intended for the whole of Asia.
