Nitesh Kumar emerged as the biggest individual winner in the NSDF Badminton Asia Para Badminton Championships 2025 when he took three titles at the SPADT Convention Centre in Korat, Thailand today.
The 30-year-old Indian was triumphant in the Men’s Singles SL3, the Mixed Doubles SL3-SU5 (with M. Thulasimathi) and Men’s Doubles SL3-SL4 (with Sukant Kadam).
In the final of the Men’s Singles SL3 for athletes who compete standing and have a significant impairment in one or both legs, or have poor walking or running balance, Nitesh beat Muhammad Al Imran from Indonesia 21-19, 21-12.
Then with M. Thulasimathi in the final of the Mixed Doubles SL3-SU5, Nitesh overcame another Indian pair Ruthick Raguoathi-Manasi Girishchandra Joshi 21-15, 21-9.
It was another all-Indian final in the Men’s Doubles SL3-SL4 where alongaide Sukant Kadam, Nitesh emerged victorious over compatriot Jagadesh Dilli-Naveen Sivakumar.
The unheralded Nitesh-Sukant had to pull out all the stops before emerging victorious in the engaging final that went to three sets before winning 21-17, 11-21, 21-11.
