Pornpawee Chochuwong was born in Rayong, Thailand, on January 22, 1998. The Thai women's singles career continues to rise. Chochuwong is predicted to be a rising star badminton player of Thailand as her ranking is increasing each year.
Chochuwong started her career in badminton back in 2015 when she won the girl’s singles silver medal at the Asian Junior World Championships. Although she was still pretty young back then, this accomplishment was evidence of the greatness of Chochuwong in her youth. In the following year, she won the 2017 and 2019 Southeast Asian Games.
The year 2020 was probably the best year for Pornpawee Chochuwong. She made a huge surprise on the first day of the BWF World Tour Finals 2020 when she won over her senior Ratchanok Intanon. At that time Intanon was ranked 5th in the women’s singles category. Another surprise Chochuwong made in the same year was during the Spanish Masters 2020. Chochuwong managed to beat the women's singles badminton host, Carolina Marin. In 2021, Chochuwong made it to the All England finals.
During the 2022 Japan Open, she defeated one of China's mainstay representatives, Wang Zhi Yi. This victory has made her the first representative of Thailand to win a ticket to the quarter-finals of the Japan Open 2022.
Currently, Chochuwong is currently ranked 9th in the BWF women's singles. With her record of achievements and looking at her young age, it’s obvious that she will rise even higher in the upcoming years.
