India’s Nitesh Kumar has stamped his mark to make the cut to two semifinals of the NSDF Badminton Asia Para Badminton Championships 2025 at SPADT Convention Centre in Korat.
The 30-year-old gold medallists at last year’s Olympic Games in Paris once again showed his supremacy in his pet event of the Men’s Singles SL3 – standing class for athletes with impairments in one or both lower limb.
The Men’s Singles SL3 top seed and world No. 1 denied Thailand’s Mongkhon Bunsun in the quarterfinals 22-20, 18-21, 21-18.
Nitesh then went to show his quality in the
quarterfinals of the Men’s Doubles SL3-SL4 – Â involves two athletes, one classified as SL3 and the other as SL4, competing as a doubles team.
Alongside partner Kadam Sukant, Nitesh overcame another Indian pair – Deep Ranjan Bisoye and Manor Sarkar – in straight set 21-8, 21-19 to book their place in the semifinals.
