Badminton Asia Championships 2026, Ningbo -Men’s Doubles: Kim/Seo poised for breakthrough

With four different champions since 2022, the men’s doubles remains one of the most open events. Defending champions Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik aim to become the first Malaysian pair since Choong Tan Fook/Lee Wan Wah (2007–2008) to successfully defend the title.

Standing in their path are the in-form world No.1 duo Kim Won-ho / Seo Seung-jae, who are still chasing their first Asian crown. Unbeaten this season and fresh off their All England triumph, the Koreans are widely tipped as favourites. A potential quarterfinal clash against former champions Liang Wei Keng/Wang Chang could prove decisive.

Meanwhile, Aaron/Soh could face Takuro Hoki/Yugo Kobayashi in the quarterfinals, with possible semifinal opponents including Satwiksairaj Rankireddy / Chirag Shetty or Indonesia’s Fajar Alfian / Muhammad Shohibul Fikri.
